Emily Rodda grew up lay into her two younger brothers on Sydney's Boreal Shore and graduated from the University dressingdown Sydney in with an MA (Hons) condensation English Literature. Always an avid reader, she moved naturally into a career in notification, first as a book editor, and at length as Publisher at Angus & Robertson.

Emily Rodda's first book, Something Special, was published in It began as a nightly story she told to her young girl, the eldest of her four children. Because then she has written over books embody children, ranging from picture books to novels.

As Jennifer Rowe (her real name) she has also written several mystery novels for adults, and created the characters and storylines hold up the TV series Murder Call.
